Since our last album (Flowers) we had to be occupied with the thoughts to make a new album. Perhaps some people guessed, we were splitted, but this apllies to many other bands", says Jenny with a smile and refers to the trend in the music-industry and the fusions of many great labels. And this situation (fusion) made the recording and creating of the new album slower as hoped for.

"The majority of the album was already finished some time ago", says Jonas Joker.  Berggren, who wrote many of the songs" when time passes, more Songs develop and some mixes come me meanwhile somewhat outdated forwards after I some years with them was already occupied. With making music is it a little as with the painting, one makes something eternal at a thing, adds something again and again, but starting from a certain time one decides that one is finished completely. You spend much time to refine any details which  nobody notices anyway afterwards."

To get the right sound for the new album some producers were instructed: the swedish Jonas Von der Burg and Harry Sommerdahl from the Pile-studios had produced and together with Jonas Berggren composed some songs too, further the german Axel Breitung and Thorsten Brötzmann (No Angels) worked on the album. The group worked 4 years long on the new album, during this time they  developed over 150 Songs.  Of it the eleven  strongest songs where choosen for the album, additionally  the titelsong Wonderful Life was selected.  Jonas Berggren wrote to some Songs alone and some Songs with the band.  It was fun that we know each other in this way after the long break again as humans and as musicians  ", says Jenny Berggren over the work on the album.  

The album shows the diversity of the band. If it is the big section of pop-music, they rules all the variety of it. From the first single "Beautiful Morning", classic pop-music from the best (written from the siblings), over "Ordinary Day", a very harmonic and relaxed song, which Jonas had recovered with help of his wife Birthe as he played to her, to "Da Capo", a very amusing up-tempo-song and on of the favorite songs of Jonas. "The Juvenile" is a slow, dramatic song, which was original written for a James-Bond-movie. The label of that time convinced the band not to use the song for the movie. So the band instead of this wrote a new text to "The Juvenile". "I love the message of the song", says Jenny in agreemant. "Rather the song says us, if you don`t care for the youth today, the youth will not care for you in time to come."

Ace of Base consists of four completely different personalities.  Jonas is married a correct family human being, with two children.  Apart from it that it is the typical Songwriter, he loves it to worry about the household and do little jobs there it has there by a love for antiquity  furniture.  Jenny is the extroverted of  the Berggren brothers and sisters, she goes to clubs with fun and sings in the choir.  Linn is the one, which tries, to lead a completely normal life away from the stardom and is the introvert  part of the band.  Jenny and Linn see themselves both primarily as singers, they want to use their personal experiences in the music and constantly further develop in music.  Since Ulf and Jonas wrote the first album alone, they wanted to show themselves with the second album that they could also be a Songwriter.  They wanted to prove that all 4 of them can write songs.

Ulf and Jenny are responsible for the promotion of the new album and travel thereby together around the whole world (Jenny explained that most bands are represented by 2 members on promotion).  Ulf is the typical Popstar. Says Jonas.  He loves  be on the road and  to mix among humans and go on parties.  He fills itself the conceptions of the people, if it concerns, how a pop star should behave. Jenny adds:  Ulf was always interested in people and in Business.  He has the spirit of a real business man and has in the course of the time done  very responsible tasks, also outside of the band.

He always has ideas, which he puts into practice and he constantly develops new strategies.  Ulf agrees both:  I have decide to develop my life around the music.  The band also opens  many doors for me, thus I met many interesting humans from completely different ranges:  President, actor, musician, Business people.  I recognized early, how important it is to have a comprehensive.  I work on different projects, among other things work I have my own company Legion within the range of sport and Entertainment Sponsoring.  We create new creation of value processes for international companies.  In this function I work also as supervisor for the SEB team at Volvo Ocean..  Those are the fruits of  my success with Ace of Base, nevertheless Ulf hasn’t lost the actual goal not from his eyes.  He  engages himself lf in the musical range that the band goes more than one thinks.  He is constantly on the way and observing how the Pop and club culture of the young people develops.  He also wrote at least 30 Songs himselves since the last album or worked at with it at least.  Of course I would have gladly had more of my own Songs on the new album, but the main focus should be that the album in the whole is as good as possible.

Against some reports, Ace of Base has never split up.  Most bands occasionally need at times a short break of each other.  I  thinks that we work  just as closely together as every other band says  Jenny. With us it is still added that three of us are brothers and sisters.  For us that is most important. It is a myth that the members of Popbands are always together. Live together and go shopping together Jonas smiles.  I  think, that they are a rare species.  Most vbands meet, if they write Songs, to record them or when they have to travel.

Jenny and Linn had the unique opportunity to be able to use the studio of their brother.  Recording at The Barn (in a barn one furnished, which was already used by the Ur-Ur-grandfather of brothers and sisters) to have it their singing traces, if they were straight in the correct tendency for it.  Other recording had place at the LaCarr studio and in the Pile of studios in Stockholm, in addition, in Hamburg parts of the album were produced.  

Ace of Base are world-wide well-known band, in the meantime a world-wide mark.  In whatever country they come, people know who they  are.  Their fans, who call themselves Acers., show a passionate interest in the four.  Fans from all world in travelled to Gothenburg  to meet and to talk about Ace of Bas at the beginning of this year and to visit the recording studio of the band. And walk around in  the place where  the members of Ace of Base grew up.
